Well, the dimensions are 100x100 vs. IH's 75x75; I'll probably up the data limit soon. In the mean time, you can always link your avatar from a free third-party image hosting service and there's no size limit.....

Whether you like it or not, we're not playthings of Regis- we can do what we will- we're people. And we're not jumping ship. We're preparing for what may come.

I mean, that sticky has a lot of people scared- many people have formed friendships that only existed on that forum. Before this forum, if IH went down, so did those bonds. Honestly, I could give a rat's ass what Regis thinks about my loyalty or about his precious forum being taken over by hatemongering trolls- if he was concerned, he should have taken a proactive role, instead of throwing up his hands and publicly saying "fuck it!" to us through a fucking sticky.

We weren't given any say, and frankly, we're sick and tired of being at the mercy of an admin who seems to have more mood swings than a PMSing teenage girl, who tells us time and time again that he's considering closing IH down for good, even after donations, vocal support, and hard work by the faithful few who desire to keep the board afloat.

We're not playthings of Regis. We're living, breathing human beings, and we're just as taken back by the recent trolling as he is. For the vast majority of us, it's not our fault for the bullshit that's making this forum less representative of the world with a more disproportionate extremist population.

That said, I will continue posting at IH, as long as I'm allowed and the site stays open. But the moment it goes down, it is my right to head over here.

If you don't want people to run, don't yell that the house is on fire. I think most of us are still going to IH in the hopes that it was all shit but if not a lot of us don't want to lose the bonds we've made there. Most people who have posted at this site did so becauseof regis' warning that the site would be shut down. There are a lot of people who've formed friendships on IH who would have lost that bond. I know there are people I enjoy reading and sending pms to that I would have lost had there not been an alternate home. No one on this site is completely abandoning IH, in fact, I've seen more posts on IH from people who registered here since Exitwound was gracious enough to open this site up.

But if IH does "go down" as the sticky warned, then people want a place to go where they already have established connections.

Perhaps, as Cory said, a more proactive role should have been taken on IH to stop the bs that was hurting the site. But all we got was a hearty "fuck it"

1) rags, I do believe that most of us are here because IH is such a special place to us all. It's not disloyal to try to continue the relationships we've formed on IH when and if IH is "retired."

2) cornelius, there's a post in IH's Rant & Rave which consists of a letter from Jon/Regis. Well worth a read. I believe many of the "mood swings" you referred to may have been a result of his battling an insidious, wretched disease that may likely end his life prematurely. I hope you can find it in your heart to have some compassion for a man who is very ill.

I was falsely accused twice during WWII... framed and tortured, while I suffered for a year under the NAZI-cops every free saturday. One bastard had pointed the finger at me and in the 2nd case, some Nazi-bastard (with an antique shop) forcing and falsefying my signature under a letter I never wrote to his daughter. My parents and brothers and me were nearly sent to the concentration camp... and I was lucky, that I had a German Nazi friend with high ranking SS- and Kriegsmarine uncles...
