Like I said, got 4WD now, AND my uncle passed away last year and his wife gave his snowblower, it rocks !!!
I had a smaller one, worked ok, but not much good for big drifts.
This one is self-propelled and alot bigger.
I do the neighbors too, 2 are pretty old, and the other has a hernia.
Thanks Uncle!

Sorry to hear about your uncle.
Those snowblowers truly are a necessary evil. When we first moved up here, I bought one for my husband for Christmas. He thought it was foolish at first, too much money. Well, after Christmas, we had the winter from hell, and let me tell you, he was the most grateful man back then, and ever since. Our driveway slopes downwards, to boot, so all the snow comes off of the street, and into our driveway. Shovels just don't do well around here.
Lucky bum, you have 4 WD. I could use one myself, driving the minivan in snow and ice can be hell at times, and this is one of the best vans around to boot.
We'll be doing our second round of snowblowing tomorrow morning.
I hate winter.

Thanks, he was my favorite Uncle, out of the 5 brothers, he was genuinely a very nice guy.
Is your minivan real wheel drive ?
If so, try the Polish snow tire, 10 bags of rock salt in the rear. :D
Get much better traction, and the salts good for if you DO get stuck.
And I can say that because I am Polish. :D
Used it with pretty good success on my other cars.

You guys got nailed pretty good too, I'm in Chicago.(Where they make the GOOD pizza). :D
I like winter, only time this city looks clean, and people are much nicer, or seem to be.
Especially when they're stuck. :D

GBA, sounds like your uncle was a special man. I had a favorite uncle who died on my 29th birthday (I kid you not). He used to joke to people that if he was going to die on any day, he would rather it be on someone's birthday that he loved very much, so it would be a day that would still bring happiness to others. He cursed me, LOL. I miss him so much, as well as my father. Though he was my mother's brother, my Dad and him were very close. My Dad was born on Valentine's day- a double whammy day for me- happy on one hand, but I think of him all day. Mom's been gone for almost 12 years, I'm an orphan. :(
Exitwound, keep that snow up there. We got around 9 inches. Kids had a blast this morning, sledding and snowboarding in our back yard. Me thinks I might go sledding later on, when they all get back from skiing. :D
Ono, how many inches did you get?
We got about 18-20 inches. We're finish cleaning up, plus we cleaned up two other homes........due to their bad health conditions.
Good neighbors though.........one gave us fresh hot chicken barley soup and the other gave us 3 bottles of wine!
People are so nice.

I do my snow shoveling in shorts and no shirt, usually in bare feet....genuine yankee style right there 8)
-2 F just means you won't sweat too much while you do it!

GBA, what the hell . . . where've you been?
I know you like TWOT series . . . Ever read the "Song of Fire and Ice," by George R.R. Martin? It's *fantastic* equally as good as The Wheel of Time . . .

Yeah ! Those were great !
Really liked them, think I've read them twice.
Have you read the Thomas Covenant chronicles by Stephen R Donaldson ?
He's restarting up that series. :D

Never heard of it, I'll have to check it out . . . I was just about to read WOT series again :)
If you haven't, you might want to check out a small, three book series, called "Tales of the Otori." Kind of a historical-fantasy series set in a please modeled after fuedel Japan. It was only three books (so far) and not very long books at that, but it was expertly written and a very good read.

I'll check them out, added them to my Amazon wish list. :D

Frrr.... we had 2+ weeks where the temperature rarely hit 30 degrees, but only ~3 inches of snow :x Why can't we get those nice, snowy winters!? We've got a 4x4 Jeep Grand Cherokee, so getting around wasn't a problem either ^.^
