Six-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong knows wheels. But in addition to bicycles, the world-renowned athlete and cancer survivor also has a love for cars, including the one that girlfriend and award-winning musician Sheryl Crow gave him for winning the most recent Tour de France in July 2004. But he hardly recognized the 1970 Pontiac GTO after TLC's Overhaulin' presented him the keys after a weeklong ordeal when he thought his car had been stolen.

Scheduled to air on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, this special hour-long episode of Overhaulin' takes viewers through the process of tricking Lance and tricking out his GTO. The Overhaulin' accomplice: Sheryl Crow. Crow helped hosts Chris Jacobs and Courtney Hansen and automobile designer Chip Foose with the details of Lance's hectic schedule and training regime, connecting the team with Lance's circle of friends and sharing her ideas for the dream renovation of his car. How will Lance react when his girlfriend's gift goes missing? With frustration or anger? Or calm and cool? Will Chris and Courtney's pranks drive him over the edge? What are Chip's plans for the body, interior and wheels? How will he match Lance's perfectionism with a matchless customization of his car?

During the filming, an anxious Sheryl said, "This is really going to blow him away … he's going to have a cow!"

After seeing his overhauled car, the overwhelmed Lance said, "This is one of the most amazing cars I've ever seen!"

Well, that's cool, but I'd still rather have one of Lance's bikes! 8)

Me too !
But I'd be a-scared to ride it, afraid to wreck it.

There used to be someone on IH who said he was a neighbor of Lance's, I asked him to get me a bike.
Never panned out though.

Lance can get 10,000 bikes a day out of Trek if he needs 'em....if you can get one out of him, might as well use it to the fullest!

Anyhow, for all his ass-kicking, Lance is only a fairly decent rider when it comes to even basic XC mountain bike racing....to say nothing of DH, enduro/freeride, short track, etc....

I'm pretty happy with the bikes I have. I'd probably value a personal chill-ride with Lance more than one of his 'cycles.

i wonder if Lance ever has to pee when riding? or does he just sweat so much he never gets off his bike during a race

They did a segment on that on one of the TDF's.
They generally wait for a slow spot on the race, then run in the bushes of something.
The cameramen are very polite about it too.

That's pretty much how it works in cross-country mountain bike racing, except there's so much mileage way out in the woods where there aren't any cameras on most XC courses that there's plenty of room to find a secure spot for your lizard-drainage
