Do not go see Alexander

the reviewers were right, this movie is horrible. While they got a majority of the history right, the flow of the film is all messed up. They compact a 10-year trek into 3 hours, hitting some of the high points, but glaringly ignoring others.

One thing that disturbed me was this notion of Oliver Stone's that alexander wanted to unite the world and bring cultures together. that's pure bunombe in my mind. Alexander was far more interested in conquest and adding to his own personal glory than in uniting the world.

Just not a good movie. save your $7 for something else

I've been told it was a horrible movie that WAAAAAY overplayed the homosexual parts. it doesn't really overplay the homosexual parts considering the time the film is set in (for modern puritanical audiences, yes it does, but given the historical setting, no)

It's just a bad movie, nothing special in it at all to warrant going to see it.

Hell, I have a BBC documentary called in the foorsteps of alexander wherein an historian literally traces the footsteps of Alexander, from Macedonia, to India and back to Iraq. It's about 4 hours long, very dry, yet far more informative about Alexaner
