Does she have arthritis?

Yesterday was a pretty rough day on all of us from the travel. Alex screamed from about 1:30 pm till 7:00 pm, I put Noah to bed at 3:30 pm and the rest of us crashed at 7:30. I don't know if we are going to travel like that again for a LOOOOOONG time.

A little bit re: the ear popping. I can get Alex to suck on his bottle or a pacifier during take off and landing, but Noah screamed especially on one landing. My ears even hurt on that landing, so I can imagine what he was feeling. All

Is that kind of like "Bette Davis' Eyes," but with Everquest sort of mixed in?

When looking into someone's eye is like looking at a Hubble Space Telescope image of a massive spiral galaxy....that's the eye of a shaman.

You can use lots of different words for the same thing: seeker, seer; even scientist, monk or philosopher. Anyone who has opened their eyes to the whole picture, even the parts our minds alone can perceive, the rest of the infinite 11-dimensional Multiverse that lies beyond the bounds of this puny little 4-dimensional Universe....

Think big, don't be afraid to think thoughts that are utterly outside the realm of "normal" human experience, asorb the possibilities of what's out there. And also, don't be afraid to explore parts of your own "innerspace" where few people go. If you have the strength and the will and the vision, the discoveries can only make you stronger.

Or kill you, drive you mad, render the necessities of daily life seemingly meaningless and of no interest until you're a bum on the sidewalk gazing into his or her own malnourished navel....

In any case, that's what I mean by "shaman." Somebody who seeks the point of this whole crazy fucked-up roller coaster ride 8)

No kidding. I always figured that there surely must be some point to it. Now I've come to the conclusion that there is just as much or little point to our existence as there is to the life and games of an ant colony. With the difference that the ant colony has less potential for destroying its own 'world'.

I think the point of the whole exercise simply is to enjoy and appreciate every moment, while you (still) can. And in the process try to be as good a person as you can.

You'd be surprised at some of the gorgeous dark-haired women who end up in military or military-related service near the capital, at Annapolis, or in some of the other capital-area military facilities. I nearly lost my heart to one -- since my first crush at age 10 I have always had a soft spot for women with dark hair and deep, dark eyes....

Mac
06-11-2006, 07:26 PM
yes it is :)
It's a memento from my many trips to Canada where I work as an engineer. I travel back and forth and since I don't have a lot of furniture use it for a regular chair lol (pretty sad huh? A camping chair for furniture)-that and all my books and some pictures are all I really have when I'm away from Badgirl. I usually rent a couple of places so I am free from hotels which are fine for a while but impersonal over time.

I love Canada as well. Beautiful country, good reasonable people for the most part, no crazy patriotism and saner than most.

OK, here's the best age progressed photo I could find
as a resemblance of you and your lovely wife.

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d147/WakeUpAmerica/Funny%20%20Misc/man_woman.gif

You see in my mind the above nerd photos of you were the antithesis of you and of course just meant as a humorous joke. The antithesis of me would be Cybill Shepherd & John Ritter, two names from Peggy Sue's Resemble Test. The only resemblance is the mere shape of the face. So, they become my antithesis ~ and there's no joke in that.

He may look like Donald Trump, for all we know! Our town's mayor had wild shoulder length hair and partied. They're usually pretty friendly, but NOT as friendly (or so they seem) as they are out west. Even in the supermarkets, all the workers there stop and say hello, how are you, and even ask if you need any assistance.

The first time I came across that, I thought it was weird, nice but weird....even a little bit annoying, because I like being left alone when I'm shopping.....I'm used to that NYC attitude.

I'm sure it's tough but if anyone can handle the change it's you. You can take the New Yorker out of New York but you can never take New York out of the New Yorker. You'll find fellow New Yorkers all over the place and they'll help you cope.

the further you get from "big cities" the more helpful people are. I lived in a town in texas, population 226 and one night i was driving home and had a flat tire. while i was changing it EVERY car that drove by stopped and asked if i needed help, needed a ride or needed to use their cell phone......even a blue haired grandma driving alone stopped to offer assistance.

imagine that...people helping each other, what an alien concept. (not in "fly over country")

I'm sorry for the loss of your little friend Ono. Having lost a couple of feline friends I can well understand your sorrow

I hope this helps.

Jim

Treat me kindly, dear master. Accord me the courtesy due to a cat — and I for my part will love you, amuse you and cheer your heart as only a cat can do.
Give me a sunny spot to sleep in when morning dawns and I will warm your lap on cold evenings.
Respect my independence and my need to walk alone at times and I will look after myself, so that you may come and go as you please.
Speak to me in our secret kitty language, let me hear my name sung in the music of your voice, and I will meow happily in sweet harmony with you.
Stroke my fur gently and lovingly and I will soothe you with the soft purrs that can only come from a happy cat.
Indulge my curiosity and I will show you the joys of bird watching, star gazing and other kitty pleasures.
Play with me and see me rejoice! Toss a humble ball of yarn and I will delight you with my cleverness and acrobatic leaps.
But do not laugh at me or allow me to be teased for there is nothing I prize more than my dignity.
Keep my surroundings neat and clean and I will be fastidious in my habits.
Feed me and be fair and I will teach you how to tell "kitty time" by instinct and tummy tunes.
And when I am old and the time comes to say farewell, hold me gently in your arms and I will go without a whimper.
For with you I am trusting, safe and secure. A cat who walked alone but loved you with a full and happy heart.

Maybe I know him.

Look at his hair on the far right and it looks like its part of his beard.

I miss the 70s.

WakeUp in what do you mean stir the pot, in what way are you talking about? lol
Where you say I stir pot with nuggy, because of this thread here?
http://blackhole.xerces.com/showpost.php?p=53505&postcount=50
sometimes I think you are all crazy! :mrgreen:You can say that again.lol:lmfao:
BADGIRL! This man is WORSE than YOUR man against me. He has poked voodoo dolls to hasten my death! Why oh why would you invite such a person to TBH??????

Doh................grits teeth. :upyours:
That was booklover saying it about eyeswideopen, it is one of the most ludicrous things booklover has said, I still find it funny. I can just imagine someone poking voodoo dolls on the computer screen at her. lol
When nuggy posted on that thread “sometimes I think you are all crazy!” I was agreeing with him because of booklover’s post.

So now back to the rest of the peoples where you say I have been relentlessly stirring the pot, show it? If your talking about the stuff where I have been posting joke pictures, things like that, you have got to be joking? lol
This is not the only thread you have posted I’m stirring the pot, you did that on some others threads as well. What is your game WakeUp, who is really stirring the pot?
If you are pissed off about me saying Declaw that Lewis cat then debate it on that thread, I will debate it, I’m entitled to my opinion just the same as you. I did own a wild cat and I know how to handle them, that is not to captivate them in the first place. Let them live in both Worlds and never try to get them to be too familiar with other people, this way they will always stay clear of other people.

Well yes, it looks like some people stir the pot in the background and are two faced, I’m steadfast and hold my ground, bring it on.:moose:

Well SC. I just have on request. PLEASE chill out, as you've told Sacha several times. I don't mean it in a malicious or negative way. I just mean that your teasing can be a bit on the heavy side. I've had to get used to it. On occasion when I've asked you about it, you've said, "That person knows I'm just jokinig around." So, when I refused to view a video because of the title you gave it, you said something like, "WakeUp, just shut up and watch it will ya." I probably remembered it in a harsher tone, but that's what registered. Although it was a jolt, I didn't get off track so to speak. It didn't bother me, because I've learned to understand your joking. In my mind there is stirring the pot in a positive way of making things lively and interesting and there's the stirring the pot in a malicious way of bringing about disharmony and discord. I clearly see you as doing the former. And although it is my intention to bring about the lively and interesting, it seems that you consider my stirring the pot to be malicious.

What can I say? Again, that's not my intent. I'll be more careful while asking you to:

What you are saying is not what your post looked like, it did need a reply to it, just the same as your post now needs a reply to it.
I tell you what, after all this time you still have not come to really now me and I am chilled out about your post. I do not take things to heart, I’m always up for a hot debate even though it is about me.
It is really funny how people see things and read it differently. I said to Sacha to chill out not because I totally disagreed with her and it was once, so a bit of over exaggeration on your part.
I like serious posting just as much as I like post where people joke about, so do a lot of other people in forums. I can live in both Worlds and both can dwell in the same forum, serious posting and not so serious posting.

Well WakeUp!!! If you saw what I said here below as being a harsh tone, what do you want people to walk on eggshells around you?

Hi SC. :hellowave: First I'll say, "How are ya?" A big :bighug: to ya.
About the video choice ~ No thanks. I do not see any redeeming value in watching people injure (or perhaps accidentally kill) themselves. I don't see a warning but I'm still not interested. I'll try your next video selection. :washboard: :( :ohno:Just watch the damn thing, you will be amazed, trust me.:nutkick: :p
heh, heh, I'm not too bad, thanks, I will be even better when you see the movie-clip.lol :moose:

Come on! If you see prompting a debate as stirring the pot, which sometimes I do and a lot of others do, you have got to be joking me? lol
No WakeUp you was not asking me, you was making a kind of a statement to EW, was not even posted in reply to me.

Ha, ha, but don’t worry I’m always chilled out, this is really nothing of your misunderstanding of me, or me you. Most of the time I put things down to cultural differences, the way things are said and the misunderstanding of.:moose:

Another point I could share is that the phrase "stirring the pot" is a well known one around my close friends. You see, one of my more dominant friends has an IQ that's more than the rest of us put together ~ well, almost. :) He is well known for saying and doing things to make things lively and challenging. I watch with enjoyment as he does this, unless it involves me and the challenge feels a bit too much. When he does this, we say he's "stirring the pot". You remind me of this friend sometimes.

Nooooo! The Dormouse was sitting between March Hare and the Mad Hatter, fast asleep at the Mad Hatters tea party.
The March hare and the Hatter were using him as a cushion and talking over his head.
Alice thought it must be very uncomfortable for the Dormouse but than said “as it is asleep, I suppose it doesn't mind.”:moose:

Thanks for the Brit Lit lesson. I've been searching the net for that very info, 'cause I knew what I posted wasn't about the Tea Party. I know very little about this story, surprisingly. I think I'd enjoy studying it. Like it's my kind of mystery and intrigue.
