Why do you think Colonel, from IH is such a racist?

The Colonel is just one of those people that sees little good in his chosen object of hatred.

I was once camping at Lake Topaz in Nevada when I saw this guy back his Chevy truck into the water to retrieve his boat. He became mired in the mud and was completely stuck. I watched as people with Toyota 4X4's and regular pickups keep trying to pull him out. No dice, he was in up to his axles and the suction was holding him in.

I finally jumped into my 1975 Ford F-250 4X4 and headed down to see if I could help. When I got there I offered my help and he said" no, I don't think that Ford is up to pulling this out, I'm hoping a Chevy 4X4 will come by"

Now it's getting dark and I pointed out that the place was pretty deserted, we ought to at least give it a shot. He offered to disconnect his boat to lighten it up so my "Ford" could get him out. I said no, I can pull just about anything out of anywhere if I can just get it hooked up.

Needless to say I pulled his truck and boat trailer out of that mud with no problem. He was very happy and said I had changed his mind about the capability of a Ford truck.

So here was a guy that would rather have been stuck all night in a desert lake than be pulled out by a Ford.

A strange analogy, but shows that dislike and bias can make for poor decision making. Keeping your eyes shut to the potiential in others can leave you stuck in the mud if you don't give others a chance to prove themselves...

When I was a mediator/moderator at It's Happening, net, I had some time to study 'the style' of some of the more flamboyant posters/members. I often thought that the Colonel was somebody else (he was/is too over the top) - and I thought that of several other members...including a few that no longer post here.
